However, the transition from gas to electric cars will change a great deal of what we know about transportation. We’re going to need EV charging infrastructure that is accessible, reliable, and future-proof. Team Hardware develops and iterates on our iconic charging stations that are placed worldwide.

Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a System Engineer - Hardware, who will take a central technical role in the development of AC (3.7-22kW) charging stations, ensuring they are best-in-class and ready for large scale rollouts. Who will make sure that technical requirements are clear to the hardware and embedded firmware/software development teams (with a focus on hardware) and ensure proper integration into a range of charging stations. Who will further help to define technical solutions to product requirements and oversee the functional and performance testing of the charge stations. In addition, the System Engineer - Hardware will be responsible for the creation of lead content for technical documentation on the products and be involved in both lifecycle management of existing products as well as development of entirely new products or electronic platforms.


Responsibilities:
• Develops new product platforms for charging stations taking into account electronics, hardware and firmware, with a focus on the hardware/electronics aspects
• Keeps track of system requirements (functional, performance and testability) and implementation, being responsible for the entire integrated solution
• Works with several hardware teams (internal and external) developing the electronics
• Takes lead role in selection of system level components/subsystems
• Is involved in validation of hardware/firmware on the integrated embedded system, by making sure test coverage is achieved with the test cases defined and executed by the internal QA & Testing team Documents system design and functionality for internal development/support teams, as input to user/assembly documentation and certifying bodies
• Receives identified issues from support team and take lead in coming to a solution Takes ownership of various station configurations

REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum MSc degree in technical field
• Embedded systems development experience
• Requirement engineering/management experience
• Electronics design experience
• Knowledge of electronics/electrical standards
• Knowledge of M2M/IoT communication standards and platforms is a plus
• Experience in the EV industry, automotive or electrical indust
